Job Description:
Description Position SummaryWe are seeking a proactive and
experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee and manage our
maintenance team. The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible
for coordinating and supervising the maintenance activities to
ensure the efficient operation and upkeep of our facilities and
equipment. This role requires strong leadership, technical
expertise, and excellent problem-solving skills. Primary
DutiesSupervision and Leadership:
- Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing
guidance and support to ensure high performance and adherence to
company standards.
- Assign and prioritize work orders, ensuring timely and
effective completion of maintenance tasks.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate objectives,
address issues, and provide updates on maintenance
activities.Maintenance Operations:
- Oversee daily maintenance operations, including preventive,
corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
- Perform regular inspections of facilities, equipment, and
systems to identify and address maintenance needs.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to
reduce downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.Project
Management:
- Plan and manage maintenance projects, ensuring they are
completed on time, within budget, and to specifications.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers for
specialized maintenance and repair services.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including
work orders, inspections, and repairs.Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety
regulations and company policies.
- Conduct safety training and enforce safety protocols to prevent
accidents and injuries.
- Stay current with industry standards, codes, and regulations
related to maintenance and facilities management.Budget and
Inventory Management:
- Assist in the preparation and management of the maintenance
department budget.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of maintenance supplies and
equipment.
- Evaluate and recommend cost-effective solutions for maintenance
and repair needs.Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure maintenance needs
are met and support operational goals.
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and
stakeholders regarding maintenance activities and project
status.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and troubleshoot
issues promptly and efficiently.Supplemental Data
- Available to respond to emergency situations or delegate
coverage to team members.
- Periodically work other shifts to provide training or coverage
for other sub-groups in the department.
- Experience in one or more of the trades is desirable, but not
essential.
- Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical,
plumbing, etc.)
- Strong leadership and team management abilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
effectively.
- Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations
- Proficiency in facilities management software and toolsTraining
and Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational
training in maintenance or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in maintenance, with proven
experience in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures, tools, and
equipment.Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 5+ years' experience
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to
troubleshoot complex maintenance issues.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and
computer applications.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to different
sites as needed
- Proficient with MS Office, email, and working knowledge of
Facilities management software or security software a plus. Working
Conditions, Physical Requirements and Supervisory Roles
- Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing, for
prolonged periods.
- Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and the
like.
- Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery.
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all
directions.
- Ability to move throughout the facility and follow clean room
protocols, Moderate lifting on occasion.
- Direct supervision of up to 10 total employees.
